MORNING FOR NORFOLK, BRISTOL, PLYMOUTH, BRISTOL, NEWPORT AND 
NORTHEASTERN PROVIDENCE COUNTIES...

At 129 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have 
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in 
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing .

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  New Bedford, Brockton, Quincy, Fall River, Pawtucket, Plymouth, 
  Taunton, Weymouth, East Providence, Braintree, Dartmouth, 
  Cumberland, Randolph, Franklin, North Attleborough, Norwood, 
  Milford, Milton, Stoughton and Bridgewater.

At 1218 AM in New Bedford...West Rodney Boulevard from 160 West 
Rodney Boulevard to Aquidneck street is closed due to flooding with 
water going across the road like a river. Cove Road closed from 
Stapleton to County Street. A few flooded basements have also been 
reported in New Bedford.

* At 542 AM EDT, Numerous roads were flooded and impassable early 
  this morning. While the bulk of the heavy rain will exit the 
  region by 7 or 8 am; runoff from the torrential rain overnight 
  will continue to result in flooded and impassable roads during the 
  morning commute. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. 
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
