Northeastern Teller County in central Colorado... West central El Paso County in east central Colorado... * Until 700 PM MDT. * At 406 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding has been reported in the Woodland Park area. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Air Force Academy, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls, Pikes Peak, Crystola, Chipita Park and Cascade. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow off Waldo Burn scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. At 430 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the Manitou springs through Chipta Park areas. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen between Woodland Park area and Cascade along highway 24. Flooding of Fountain Creek will continue in these areas and will drain through Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. Flash flooding is expected to continue. Get away from the banks of Fountain Creek. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the drainages along the southern and western portions of the burn scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Air Force Academy, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls, Pikes Peak, Crystola, Chipita Park and Cascade. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... At 514 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms which produced heavy rain along highway 24 between Woodland Park through the southwest side of Colorado Springs. Up to two inches of rain has fallen in this area. Storms have moved out of the warning area...but flash flooding is expected to continue until the water has a chance to recede. Excessive rainfall over the warned area has caused mud slides across portions of highway 94 between mile markers 288 and 297. Highway 24 was reported closed at 452 PM. Mud slides can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Air Force Academy, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls, Pikes Peak, Crystola, Chipita Park and Cascade. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
