* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 22.5 feet by Friday morning. The river 
  will fall below flood stage by Monday morning.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Floodwaters touch the base of the river 
  gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
  154 and 136 in Rock Springs.  Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
  baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered 
  with water up to 4 feet deep.  Floodwaters affect some businesses, 
  including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

  business and a road wayside park about 5 miles downstream near the 
  Highway 33 bridge. Floodwaters also affect an auto auction business
  near Highway I-94. This level is the 20 percent chance flood 
  meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the 
  river reaching this level.

  Webb Avenue as well as North Webb Avenue by the movie theater. 
  Floodwaters are onto the concrete deck of the South Webb Avenue 
  bridge. Water is 1 foot deep in the Public Works Building. South 
  Park next to the wastewater plant is underwater. Floodwaters are 
  into the swimming pool control room in Webb Park. Floodwaters are 4
  to 4.5 feet deep in the Public Works Yard.

* Forecast...The river is forecast to rise above flood stage late this
  evening tonight, crest near 17.7 feet Thursday morning and fall below 
  flood stage Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 17.8 feet...In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of 
  Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane 
  Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water 
  over it in places. wood Street in the Blackhawk Park area is 
  affected by floodwaters. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the
  Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few 
  homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the 
  first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards.

  bridge. Water is 1 foot deep in the Public Works Building. South 
  Park next to the wastewater plant is underwater. Floodwaters are 
  into the swimming pool control room in Webb Park. Floodwaters are 4
  to 4.5 feet deep in the Public Works Yard.

  gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
  154 and 136 in Rock Springs.  Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
  baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered 
  with water up to 4 feet deep.  Floodwaters affect some businesses, 
  including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Floodwaters affect Granite Avenue and South
  Webb Avenue as well as North Webb Avenue by the movie theater. 
  Floodwaters are onto the concrete deck of the South Webb Avenue 
  bridge. Water is 1 foot deep in the Public Works Building. South 
  Park next to the wastewater plant is underwater. Floodwaters are 
  into the swimming pool control room in Webb Park. Floodwaters are 4
  to 4.5 feet deep in the Public Works Yard.

  gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
  154 and 136 in Rock Springs.  Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
  baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered 
  with water up to 4 feet deep.  Floodwaters affect some businesses, 
  including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

  business and a road wayside park about 5 miles downstream near the 
  Highway 33 bridge. Floodwaters also affect an auto auction business
  near Highway I-94. This level is the 20 percent chance flood 
  meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the 
  river reaching this level.

  Works Building. There is major flooding in downtown Reedsburg.

  gauge house in Rock Springs. Floodwaters cover much of Highways DD,
  154 and 136 in Rock Springs.  Busser Park along Highway 136 and the
  baseball diamond in Fireman's Park along Highway DD are covered 
  with water up to 4 feet deep.  Floodwaters affect some businesses, 
  including the Post Office, along Highway 154 in Rock Springs.

* Impact...At 8.2 feet...There is widespread flooding of agricultural
  land and lowland. There is widespead flooding in Riverbend 
  Campground, about 5 miles upstream of Milford. This level is 
  considered to be about a 20 percent chance flood meaning there is a
  20 percent chance in any given year of the river reaching this 
  level.

.UPDATE...Will keep a close eye on Iowa convection as it heads
ENE towards northern IL. Still some shra/tsra moving through our
area but of the weaker variety relative to the earlier severe storms.
Our southern areas are still closer to some better air even
though many areas in the far south worked over by some light rain.
Flash Flood Watch still looks good for now given the remaining
high precipitable water values however the northwest counties may
be able to be cleared a little later.

.AVIATION(00Z TAFS)...Weak low across the area with many boundaries
making for a variable wind regime. Would expect to see some
MVFR/IFR cigs to redevelop ahead of the main cold frontal push
then during the day on Wednesday we should see an upward
transition in ceilings. Convective trends will be the main focus
with still potential for a few rounds of shra/tsra into the late
night hours, with the precip hanging on longest in the southeast
corner.

SHORT TERM...

So while we still might get a few showers and thunderstorms across
south central WI this afternoon, the stronger storms are going to
develop just ahead of the surface front, roughly from La Crosse to
northeast WI near Menominee. This is associated with the currently
strong southwesterly flow aloft and steeper mid level lapse rates.
This convection is expected to organize into a broken line by late
afternoon and slide east, possibly clipping the MKX forecast area
(Marquette to Sheboygan County). The strongest forcing will
gradually slide southeast into the MKX forecast area late this
afternoon so either the central WI line will slide south or we
will see additional scattered thunderstorms develop (per the
latest HRRR). We will continue to see rounds of thunderstorms
until just after midnight until the 850mb front gets through
southeast WI.

With the strong instability and shear over southern WI today,
large hail and damaging winds are threats. Tornadoes that develop
along the leading edge of bowing line segments are possible given
strong 0-3km bulk shear. The storm motion will be east-northeast
which is almost parallel to the front, thus the heavy rain and
flash flood threat due to likelihood of training thunderstorms. A
severe thunderstorm watch was just issued.

LONG TERM...

Wednesday and Thursday... Forecast confidence is High.

Low clouds and maybe some drizzle will linger across southeast WI
Wed morning until the upper trough can swing through. Highs will
only be around 70 with lower humidity and dewpoints.

High pressure and clear skies with plenty of lingering moisture is
a good setup for dense fog Wednesday night. Lows will be in the
lower 50s.

Thursday will be quiet. Return flow around the high will warm our
temps into the lower/mid 70s.

Labor Day Weekend... Forecast confidence is Medium.

A weak upper wave will slide northeast Thu nt into Friday. As it
approaches WI, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms on
Friday and/or Friday night into Saturday morning. Models are
showing a weakening trend to the forcing/showers for Friday.

Precip may linger into Saturday afternoon, but Saturday night

MVFR ceilings will persist through late afternoon. We should see
some improvement in ceilings, but there will still be a few MVFR
cloud bases around given our very moist environment. Thunderstorms
are developing. They may be severe with wind and hail and will
also have high rainfall rates. A tornado is possible.

Thunder should taper off after midnight, but showers and isolated
thunderstorms may linger until after sunrise Wed morning. MVFR
ceilings behind the storms overnight into Wed morning will
gradually rise to VFR by early afternoon.

MARINE...

The small craft advisory continues through 7 pm and may need to be
extended. Severe thunderstorms are possible this evening with
winds and hail and even waterspouts.

periods of heavy rain will result in a risk for flooding,
especially for areas that have seen very heavy rain over the last

region into early Wednesday morning.
