...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways 
in Indiana...

  Big Blue River...Driftwood River...East Fork White River...Flatrock 
  River...Mississinewa River...Muscatatuck River...Sugar Creek...
  Wabash River...White River...Wildcat Creek...Youngs Creek...

.Periods of heavy rain over the last few days has resulted in 
extensive flooding across much of central and southern Indiana. 
Moderate flooding is ongoing along the Mississinewa River near 
Ridgeville and along the Flatrock River near Raleigh with minor 
flooding elsewhere.  Most smaller streams have crested or nearly 
crested with the main rivers still rising.

Additional rainfall later this weekend and early next week may lead 
to renewed or prolonged flooding.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go 
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and 
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river 
conditions.

  and possibly other county roads are flooded.  Little League field 
  in Ridgeville is flooded.  Noticeable agricultural flooding in 
  progress.

* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It will rise to near 13.7 feet by Saturday afternoon 
  then begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Sunday evening.
* At 13.2 feet...Lowland flooding in progress along Driftwood River in
  northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club 
  area flooded.  At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to 
  Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of 
  its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is 
  flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river 
  bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally 
  flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR 
  900W.

* At 10.0 feet...Every Bartholomew county road that approaches or 
  crosses the East Fork White River including Southern Crossing is 
  affected by flood waters. County Road 800 S is extensively flooded 
  in southern Bartholomew County. Mill Race Park in Columbus is 
  extensively flooded. Flood waters on SR 11 in the southbound lane 
  about 1 mile north of CR 800 S.

* At 16.4 feet...State Road 258 remained open after the river 
  rebounded quickly to this level in June 2010.  State Road 258 had 
  been flooded a few days earlier after river crested at 17.9 feet.

* At 22.0 feet...A few local county roads begin to flood and are 
  impassable.  These include Buddha Road south of the gage and 
  Lawrenceport Road.  All local roads across the East Fork of the 
  White River are threatened by high water, and some are closed.  
  Flooding of agricultural lands in Lawrence County is in progress.

* At  9:30 PM Friday the stage was 13.6 feet. This is 2.0 to 2.5 feet

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Saturday night and

* At 18.5 feet...Lowest river cabins across from the Wabash Generating
  Station begin to flood. Flooding of agricultural land along U.S. 63
  north of Terre Haute, west bank of river and in southwest Vigo 
  County occurs. County roads flood in southwest Vigo County. The 
  wetland projects between U.S. 40 and I-70 begin to slowly fill.

.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 316 PM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018

Dry conditions will prevail through tomorrow as central Indiana
falls between disturbances. The dry weather will be short-lived
though as the first of two systems approaches the forecast area
late Saturday night. Rain ahead of the system will impact the
northern portions of central Indiana late Saturday night, but
rain will become more widespread from west to east on Sunday as
the bulk of the system moves through. After a lull between systems
again on Monday morning, a second more potent system will enter
the region by Monday afternoon. This one will have enough forcing
to possibly even trigger a few thunderstorms on Monday night and
Tuesday. After that, dry and cool conditions will prevail through
Thursday, and then a more seasonable pattern will return late in
the extended period with some possible snow showers.

.NEAR TERM /Tonight/...

Issued at 316 PM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018

Will continue to trend toward the dry forecast that the latest
blended initilization is producing despite an upper trough moving
through the area. Time cross sections indicate a very dry pocket
of air in the mid levels, and further mixing of dry air from aloft
will result in scattering of clouds after midnight.

Nonetheless, lingering low level moisture and a very subtle
temperature inversion late tonight could be conducive to fog
formation. So, this will be the main threat of the near term
period.

As far as temperatures, overnight lows are progged to dip into the
low to mid 30s dependant on cloud scattering.

.SHORT TERM /Tomorrow through Monday/...

Issued at 316 PM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018

High confidence continues for dry conditions tomorrow morning and
afternoon as an upper trough pushes farther northeastward and
brief ridging strengthens aloft.

The dry conditions will not last long though as the next low
pressure system enters the Lower Midwest. Some rain showers could
form across the northern counties ahead of the system late
Saturday night, but the bulk of the rainfall will not come until
Sunday morning when isentropic lift really intensifies with the
system.

Rain will expand from west to east on Sunday morning, encompassing
all of central Indiana by Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, warm
advection with the associated frontal boundary will bump highs
into the upper 50s/low 60s on Sunday. As the system shifts
eastward, rain will gradually diminish from west to east on Sunday
night with all of central Indiana dry on Monday morning.

That system will quickly be followed by another system on Monday
afternoon though, spreading rain back into central Indiana.
Central Indiana will once again be caught in the warm sector of
that system, bumping high temperatures into the upper 50s/low 60s
for Monday as well. This is a medium to high confidence forecast.

.LONG TERM /Monday night through Friday/...

ECMWF suggests a string negatively tilted trough in place across
Illinois and Indiana on Monday Night before sweeping across the area
on Tuesday evening along with an associated cold front. Given the
very strong dynamics suggested by the models have stuck close to the
near categorical pops on Monday night through Tuesday evening.

From Wednesday through friday the ECMWF suggests broad troughing in
place across the Great Lakes and Ohio valley with minimal forcing
available. Lower level suggest strong high pressure building across
the plains states along with NW surface flow...limiting much in the
way of available moisture to the region. Strong surface ridging
is expected to build by Thursday into Friday promoting dry...but
cool weather. Thus have tried to remove any mention of slight chc
pops as suggested by the blend within the forecast builder.

.AVIATION /Discussion for the 022100Z KIND TAF Update/...

Some diurnal cloud based around 030 has developed over the past
couple of hours. Will add this to the forecast for the rest of the
afternoon. This cloud expected to dissipate with sunset.

Previous discussion follows.

VFR Conditions are expected this Taf period.

Weak high pressure is expected to build across the TAF sites this
period as Low pressure to the northeast exits the area. Lower
level flow is expected to become anti-cyclonic tonight. Forecast
soundings and Time heights show only some limited lower level
moisture along with subsidence aloft. With the upper trough in
place across the area...this should just result in a few partly
cloudy skies.

More organized clouds will arrive on Saturday as a warm front
approaches. Again this should just result in some increasing mid
and high VFR clouds as suggested by the time heights sections.

Outlook: Wet and unsettled weather will return Sunday through
Tuesday as a series of low pressure systems track along a frontal
boundary. Thunderstorms will be possible Monday evening into
Tuesday.

Discussion: High pressure will bring a brief period of dry weather
Saturday before the unsettled pattern returns for late weekend into
early next week as a series of low pressure systems track through the
region.
