Sugar Creek...
.Lowland flooding has developed along portions of Sugar Creek near
Edinburgh. Significant flooding is not expected at this time.
Rains of 2 to 4 inches have fallen in previously dry areas of east
central Indiana since Wednesday morning.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Periods of heavy rain over the last few days has resulted in
extensive flooding across much of central and southern Indiana.
Moderate flooding is ongoing along the Mississinewa River near
Ridgeville and along the Flatrock River near Raleigh with minor
flooding elsewhere. Most smaller streams have crested or nearly
crested with the main river still rising.
Additional rainfall later this weekend and early next week may lead
to renewed or prolonged flooding.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

northern Bartholomew County on April 6, 2011. Double Y Saddle Club
area flooded. At least 6 inches of water flowing over CR 950N to
Club. Water is less than one foot away from CR 330W just south of
its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 500N west of CR 250W is
flooded blocking vehicular access to residences near the river
bank. Lowell Public Access site is open but ramp is totally
flooded. Water close to one residence at Shelby CR 1000S and CR
900W.

extensive flooding across much of central and southern Indiana.
Moderate flooding is ongoing along the Mississinewa River near
Ridgeville and along the Flatrock River near Raleigh with minor
flooding elsewhere. Most smaller streams have crested or nearly
crested with the main rivers still rising.
Additional rainfall later this weekend and early next week may lead
to renewed or prolonged flooding.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Periods of heavy rain earlier this week has resulted in extensive
flooding across much of central and southern Indiana. Near moderate
flooding occurred on some of the smaller streams and is ongoing
on the East Fork White River near Seymour, with minor flooding
occurring elsewhere. Most smaller streams have crested or
have nearly crested with the main rivers near crest or still rising.
Additional rainfall later this weekend and early next week may lead
to renewed or prolonged flooding.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

.Periods of heavy rain earlier this week has resulted in extensive
flooding across much of central and southern Indiana. Near moderate
flooding occurred on some of the smaller streams, but as of
Saturday evening only minor flooding was ongoing. Smaller streams
have crested with the main rivers near crest or still rising.
Additional rainfall later this weekend and early next week may lead
to renewed or prolonged flooding.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

Issued at 344 AM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018 An active weather pattern is in store for central Indiana for the next seven days. A series of waves will move through the area keeping a wet pattern over central Indiana. After a couple of dry days, more widespread rain chances return Sunday. Another stronger system arriving Monday night and Tuesday could bring thunderstorms to the area and possibly more heavy rain. && .NEAR TERM /This Afternoon/... Issued at 1005 AM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018 Surface analysis late this morning shows Low pressure in place over Western NY. A second low pressure system was found across SW Iowa. Cool NW cyclonic flow was in place across Central Indiana. GOES 16 shows some clearing across NW Indiana...although much of the forecast area was engulfed with cloud cover. Time height sand forecast soundings suggest continued lower level moisture residing across the area this afternoon. Forecast soundings show convective temperatures in the upper 40s. Thus any breaks in the stratocu are expected to fill in rather quickly. Little overall forcing is expected within the flow aloft. Thus will just expected lingering cloudy skies given the cyclonic flow and trough aloft. Trended highs at or slightly below the forecast builder temps given the expected clouds. && .SHORT TERM /Tonight through Sunday night/... Issued at 344 AM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018 Forecast focus is on return of precipitation Sunday. Models are in fairly good agreement and generally didn't deviate much from initialization. As tonight starts expect to see ample cloud cover, but as the night wears on this should scatter and move out. With ample soil moisture and light winds, could see some patchy fog form late tonight and added this with NAM soundings showing the potential. That said, the GFS shows much more dry air in the low levels so not high confidence. Brief upper ridging moves through Saturday keeping dry conditions in the forecast. Saturday night models are hinting at a quick moving precursor wave moving across the northern counties, so have some small pops going there. Sunday though there is agreement that a frontal system will approach. This will bring chances for rain across the area, but also increase the pressure gradient and bring some gusty wind around 25 to 35 mph during the afternoon hours. Sunday night the front will move through and late Sunday night chances for rain will drop off from west to east. Temperatures will warm through the period to near normal for Sunday. && .LONG TERM /Monday night through Friday/... Issued at 209 PM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018 ECMWF suggests a string negatively tilted trough in place across Illinois and Indiana on Monday Night before sweeping across the area on Tuesday evening along with an associated cold front. Given the very strong dynamics suggested by the models have stuck close to the near categorical pops on Monday night through Tuesday evening. From Wednesday through friday the ECMWF suggests broad troughing in place across the Great Lakes and Ohio valley with minimal forcing available. Lower level suggest strong high pressure building across the plains states along with NW surface flow...limiting much in the way of available moisture to the region. Strong surface ridging is expected to build by Thursday into Friday promoting dry...but cool weather. Thus have tried to remove any mention of slight chc pops as suggested by the blend within the forecast builder. && .AVIATION /Discussion for the 021800Z Tafs/... Issued at 108 PM EDT Fri Nov 2 2018 VFR Conditions are expected this Taf period. Weak high pressure is expected to build across the TAF sites this period as Low pressure to the northeast exits the area. Lower level flow is expected to become anti-cyclonic tonight. Forecast soundings and Time heights show only some limited lower level moisture along with subsidence aloft. With the upper trough in place across the area...this should just result in a few partly cloudy skies. More organized clouds will arrive on Saturday as a warm front approaches.
