The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Sheridan County in northwestern Kansas...
Gove County in west central Kansas...
* Until 1100 PM CDT
* At 502 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Rainfall of 2 to 5 inches has
occurred across much of the warning area. Flash flooding is
already occurring and will continue to get worse and expand across
much of the area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oakley, Hoxie, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Gove and Selden.
This warning replaces the previous warning for Gove county.
Additional rainfall amounts of at least 2 to 4 inches will be
possible across the warned area.
This warning includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers
76 and 113. Conditions are especially bad across this section of
Interstate 70 in northern Gove county. Near zero visibilities are
occurring with this heavy rainfall.
Flood waters are expected to move down Hackberry Creek, the Saline
River, and the South Fork of the Solomon river.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

At 751 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Radar estimates at least three to six
inches have fallen across the warned area. Flash flooding will
continue across the area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oakley, Hoxie, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Gove and Selden.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area.
This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 76 and
113.
