This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited Hail risk.
  Limited Thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Limited Flooding risk.
  Significant Lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will impact far southern
Missouri generally south of Highway 60 into this evening. A
localized strong to marginally severe storm will be possible with
the strongest storms and be capable of producing hail to the size
of nickels and wind gust to 50 mph.

After activity diminishes tonight, showers and thunderstorms will
spread back over far southern Missouri and extreme southeastern
Kansas late tonight into early Friday morning. This activity
could produce heavy rainfall which may result in localized
flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Periods of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms will impact the
outlook area Friday and Friday night before tapering off
Saturday evening. Storm total rainfall will generally range from
2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts possible across far
southern Missouri.

Rainfall of this magnitude over a large area has the potential to
produce flooding in flood prone and poor drainage areas and low
water crossings. Flooding of larger main stem rivers may also
develop. A Flood Watch is in effect for southern Missouri and far
southeastern Kansas late tonight through Friday night.

There is a limited risk for strong to locally severe storms
Friday across far southern Missouri near the Arkansas border if
enough instability can develop.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
