* Flash Flood Warning for...
East central Custer County in southeastern Colorado...
West central Pueblo County in southeastern Colorado...
Including the North Creek Drainage on the Junkins Burn Scar.
* Until 900 PM MDT
* At 554 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.
* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of east central
Custer and west central Pueblo Counties. It will impact the
eastern part of the Junkins burn scar including the North Creek
Drainage.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

EAST CENTRAL CUSTER AND WEST CENTRAL PUEBLO COUNTIES...

At 626 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the North Creek Drainage of the Junkins burn scar.
The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.
Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of east central
Custer and west central Pueblo Counties. It will impact the eastern
part of the Junkins burn scar including the North Creek Drainage.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
