SOUTHWESTERN FREMONT AND NORTHWESTERN CUSTER COUNTIES...
...THIS INCLUDES THE HAYDEN PASS BURN SCAR...

 At 304 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
heavy rain across the warned area.  Doppler radar estimates up to 1 
inch of rain has already fallen across the headwaters of Hayden 
Creek and Wolf Creek, over the northwest portion of the scar. Flash 
flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow 
moving through the Hayden Creek, Wolf Creek, Big Cottonwood Creek, 
Little Cottonwood Creek and Butter Creek Drainages. The debris flow 
can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hayden Creek Campground, County Road 6, County Road 40 and 
possibly Coaldale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

moderate to heavy rain across the warned area.  Doppler radar 
estimates up to 1.4 inches of rain has already fallen across the 
headwaters of Hayden Creek and Wolf Creek, over the northwest 
portion of the scar.  Flash flooding is likely occurring at this 
time.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow 
moving through the Hayden Creek, Wolf Creek, Big Cottonwood Creek, 
Little Cottonwood Creek and Butter Creek Drainages. The debris flow 
can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

  Southwestern Fremont County in central Colorado...
  Northwestern Custer County in southeastern Colorado...
  Including the Hayden Pass Burn Scar...

* Until 645 PM MDT

* At 421 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  light rain showers across the warned area. The heavy rain has 
  ended but ongoing runoff from earlier heavy rains will continue 
  the threat of Flash flooding for a while longer.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Hayden Creek Campground, County Road 6, County Road 40 and 
  possibly Coaldale.

warned area. The heavy rain has ended but ongoing runoff from 
earlier heavy rains will continue the threat of Flash flooding for a 
while longer.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar from earlier will result in 
debris flow moving through the Hayden Creek, Wolf Creek, Big 
Cottonwood Creek, Little Cottonwood Creek and Butter Creek 
Drainages. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and 
other loose materials.
