The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Fremont County in central Colorado...
  Northwestern Custer County in southeastern Colorado...

* Until 145 AM MDT

* At 1042 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding 
  along County Road 6 along Hayden Creek on the west side of the 
  Hayden Pass burn scar. Flash flooding is already occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Coaldale.

Excessive rainfall over the Hayden Pass burn scar will result in 
debris flow moving through the Hayden Creek and its tributaries. The 
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose 
materials.  Pueblo doppler radar estimated up to an inch of rain 
fell on the northwestern side of the burn scar, and just under one 
half of an inch fell on the burn scar's eastern side in the Oak 
Creek drainage. Any additional rainfall through 1100 PM will be 
light, however flash flooding is expected to continue until the 
water has a chance to recede.   

This includes the following streams and drainages...Middle Prong 
Hayden Creek...South Prong...Wolf Creek...and Oak Creek.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
