VALID 271050Z - 271115Z THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 222 CONTINUES. SUMMARY...LOCALIZED STRONG TO PERHAPS LOW-END SEVERE GUSTS MAY ACCOMPANY A SQUALL LINE AS IT MOVES EWD TO THE SABINE RIVER EARLY THIS MORNING. AN ADDITIONAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH E OF THE CURRENT WATCH IS NOT ANTICIPATED. DISCUSSION...RADAR IMAGERY SHOWS A SQUALL LINE FROM THE UPPER PORTION OF GALVESTON BAY NNEWD TO 20 MI SE LFK. GENERALLY WEAK WIND GUSTS ACCORDING TO INSTRUMENTED OBSERVING SITES HAVE BEEN NOTED WITH THE SQUALL LINE DURING THE PAST 1-2 HOURS. NONETHELESS THE NEAR-STORM ENVIRONMENT IMMEDIATELY DOWNSTREAM OVER THE LOWER SABINE RIVER VALLEY REMAINS MARGINALLY SUPPORTIVE OF A STRONG GUST...OWING PRIMARILY TO WATER LOADING...DESPITE RELATIVELY POOR LOW-LEVEL LAPSE RATES.
