  The Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg.
* From this afternoon until late Saturday night.
* At 330 PM Thursday the stage was 15.9 feet...and rising.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and 
  continue to rise to near 25.3 feet by Friday afternoon. The 
  river will fall below flood stage by Saturday evening.
* At 26.0 feet...Major flooding begins. Widespread inundation 
  flooding occurs upstream and downstream from the gage. The 
  Riverside Park will flood up to 7 feet deep. Some homes at the end 
  of Bob Brewster Road will be flooded. Moore Creek will back up and 
  flood portions of Payton Road near Cliff Payton Circle around 5 
  feet deep. Large portions of the day use area parking lot and north
  camping site in the Chattahoochee Bend State Park will be under 5 
  feet of water. Small coffer dams at Plant Wansley downstream will 
  be topped.

  portions of the Northwood Country Club Golf Course upstream from 
  the gage on Club Drive...and in the woodland areas downstream from 
  the gage and for the next four miles until the creek merges with 
  the Yellow River. An old concrete golf cart bridge around 300 feet 
  downstream from the gage will begin to flood.

  river continues to back up and reach the bottom of the bridge.  In 
  Rockdale County...some flooding of yards begins in the Lake Capri

  For the Big Creek near Alpharetta.
* Until Sunday morning.
* At 6 PM Thursday the stage was 9.9 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 7 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 10.2 feet by Friday 
  morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday morning.
* At 10 feet...Minor flooding expands along the creek from near 
  Cumming to Alpharetta and Roswell. Backyards of homes off Seale 
  Drive and Gunter Court and portions of the Golf of Georgia are 
  under a foot of water. The Big Creek Greenway experiences 
  significant flooding up to 4 feet deep with closure of the paths. 
  This especially occurs upstream and downstream from the gage on 
  Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Hill Park. A large portion of the YMCA
  Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under a two feet of

* At 7 PM Thursday the stage was 17.7 feet...and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* The river will continue to fall...dropping below flood stage this 
  evening.
* At 17 feet...Flood Stage is reached with minor flooding along the 
  creek upstream and downstream from the gage on Northside Drive. 
  Woodward Way becomes impassable with 1 to 4 feet of water on the 
  road. Front yards of homes will also be flooded. The Atlanta 
  Memorial Park and large portions of the Cross Creek and Bobby 
  Jones Golf Courses are flooded. Sections of Hanover West Drive and 
  backyards on portions of Peachtree Battle Avenue will be flood 
  with 1 to 2 feet of water.

THE FIRST OF THE WEEK AS UPPER TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES
AND STRONG UPPER SOUTHWEST LOW DEVELOPS. WE REMAIN IN A MOIST AND
SOMEWHAT UNSTABLE AIR MASS WITH BEST POPS MAINLY NORTH. SURFACE
LOW MOVING NORTHEAST FROM THE WESTERN GULF INTO THE MS VALLEY
SHOULD PUSH THE FRONT INTO THE STATE BY TUESDAY. GFS AND ECMWF
