THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ALAMANCE COUNTY
  STANLY COUNTY

* UNTIL 6 AM EDT

* AT 348 AM EDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED HEAVY RAIN OVER STANLY AND ALAMANCE COUNTIES. THE
  STANLY COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE REPORTED THAT MANY ROADS WERE
  CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER...ESPECIALLY IN THE NORWOOD VICINITY.
  ALAMANCE COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT NO ROADS WERE CLOSED
  BUT MANY ROADS HAD STANDING WATER. MANY LOCATIONS IN THE WARNED
  COUNTIES HAVE RECEIVED BETWEEN 3 AND 5 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE
  THURSDAY AFTERNOON. AN ADDITIONAL HALF TO ONE INCH OF RAIN IS
  LIKELY THROUGH 6 AM. THIS ADDED RAINFALL WILL AGGREVATE
  FLOODING ALREADY OCCURRING PLUS CAUSE RAIN-SWOLLEN CREEKS AND
  STREAMS TO RISE EVEN HIGHER.

   IF YOU LIVE IN AN KNOWN TO FLOODING DURING HEAVY RAIN
EVENTS...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN. MOTORISTS
SHOULD AVOID AREAS WHERE HIGH WATER COVERS THE ROAD. DO NOT DRIVE
AROUND THE BARRICADES!
