000 TTAA00 KSLC 192001 RRA SVRSLC UTC015-192055- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM/FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 156 PM MDT SAT JUL 19 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM/FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 255 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL UTAH ...CENTRAL EMERY COUNTY AT 153 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY DOPPLER RADAR 17 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CASTLE DALE AND IS NEARLY STATIONARY. THIS STORM WILL REMAIN OVER THE SAN RAFAEL SWELL. LARGE HAIL...HEAVY RAIN IN EXCESS OF 1/2 INCH IN 20 MINUTES...AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. HEAVY RUNOFF MAY OCCUR IN PRONE AREAS OF THE SAN RAFAEL SWELL. DRY WASHES MAY FILL RAPIDLY. HEAVY THUNDERSTORM RAINS CAN QUICKLY FLOOD ROADS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
