000 TTAA00 KSLC 192230 COR FFWSLC UTC037-055-192300- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD/SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT 425 PM MDT SAT JUL 19 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD/SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 500 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEASTERN UTAH ...NORTHWESTERN SAN JUAN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL UTAH ...EASTERN WAYNE COUNTY THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR EASTERN WAYNE AND NORTHWESTERN SAN JUAN COUNTIES IS BEING CONTINUED UNTIL 500 PM. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS CURRENTLY LOCATED OVER CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK...AND IS NEARLY STATIONARY. THE THREAT OF HEAVY RAIN IN EXCESS OF 1/2 INCH IN 20 MINUTES REMAINS THE MAIN HAZARD WITH THIS STORM. LARGE HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE ALSO LIKELY. HEAVY THUNDERSTORM RAINS CAN QUICKLY FLOOD ROADS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WAThER COVERS THE ROAD.
