000 TTAA00 KPIT 251500 FFWPIT PAC007-019-252000- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA 1100 AM EDT SUN MAY 25 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 PM EDT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN WEST PENNSYLVANIA ...BEAVER COUNTY...BUTLER COUNTY AT 1055 AM DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED RAINFALL...HEAVY AT TIMES...MOVING THROUGH BEAVER AND BUTLER COUNTIES. THIS RAINFALL IS FALLING ACROSS ALREADY SATURATED GROUND FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAIN. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL QUICKLY RUNOFF INTO STREAMS AND CREEKS. THE FIRST AREAS TO BE AFFECTED WILL LIKELY BE THE NORTHERN PART OF BEAVER COUNTY AND THE SOUTHERN HALF OF BUTLER COUNTY. DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. THE WATER MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
