IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO ...LINCOLN COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO ...CHAVES COUNTY AT 1125 PM DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF ROSWELL AND OVER THE CAPITAN MOUNTAINS AND THE JICARILLA MOUNTAINS OF LINCOLN COUNTY. THESE STORM WERE MOVING TO THE WEST AT 15 TO 20 MPH. RADAR ESTIMATES RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IN THE PAST HOUR. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
