THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  830 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...UPSHUR COUNTY
 
RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL DURING THE PAST 24 TO 36 HOURS HAS BROUGHT
MANY SMALL STREAMS TO BANKFULL IN UPSHUR COUNTY. SEVERAL STREAMS HAVE
OVERFLOWED. THE MIDDLE FORK RIVER AT ELLAMORE WAS UP TO THE BRIDGE.
EVACUATIONS WERE TAKING PLACE THERE.
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE SOUTH OF UPSHUR COUNTY DURING THE
NEXT HOUR. HOWWEVER...SMALL STREAMS WILL CONTINUE TO OVERFLOW
FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. WbATCH OUT FOR MUD SLIDES.
