000 TTAA00 KMIA 081546 SVRMIA FLC087-011-025-081645- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 1139 AM EDT TUE OCT 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH FLORIDA ...MAINLAND MONROE COUNTY... IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA ...WESTERN BROWARD COUNTY...NORTHWESTERN DADE COUNTY AT 1137 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM WESTERN BROWARD COUNTY OVER THE EVERGLADES TO EXTREME NORTHWEST DADE COUNTY AND INTO MAINLAND MONROE COUNTY. THE LINE WAS MOVING EAST AROUND 10 MPH BUT INDIVIDUAL STORMS WITHIN THE LINE WERE RACING NORTHEAST AT 30 TO 40 MPH. DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN THESE THUNDERSTORMS. SEEK SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.
