000 TTAA00 KMIA 081351 SVRMIA FLC051-099-021-081445- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 945 AM EDT TUE OCT 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIAMI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1045 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...S... IN SOUTH FLORIDA ...HENDRY COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA ...WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA ...COLLIER COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 940 AM EDT MIAMI DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS FROM BELLE GLADE TO MILES CITY TO CAPE ROMANO. THIS LINE IS MOVING EAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH WHILE INDIVIDUAL THUNDERSTORMS MOVE NORTHEAST AT 40 TO 45 MPH. DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.
