000 TTAA00 KATL 062135 SVRATL GAC057-117-121-062215- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA 534 PM EDT MON MAY 6 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 615 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA ...CHEROKEE COUNTY...FORSYTH COUNTY...NORTHERN FULTON COUNTY AT 530 PM RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS STRETCHING FROM NEAR WOODSTOCK IN CHEROKEE COUNTY TO SILVER CITY IN FORSYTH COUNTY. QUARTER SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED IN THE EASTERN SIDE OF CHEROKEE COUNTY BY 911 DURING THE PAST FEW MINUTES. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. A SLOW MOVING FRONT ACROSS TENNESSEE WILL CONTINUE DRIFTING SOUTH INTO EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON. A VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL ALLOW THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IN THE AFTERNOON HEAT. THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MORE LIKELY OVER NORTH GRORGIA BUT SOME OF THE STORMS COULD DEVELOP OR MOVE INTO CENTRAL GEORGIA AS FAR SOUTH AS A LINE EXTENDING FROM HAMILTON TO PERRY TO SOPERTON.
