000 TTAA00 KATL 062005 SVRATL GAC013-157-062045- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA 405 PM EDT MON MAY 6 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 445 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHEAST GEORGIA ...BARROW COUNTY...JACKSON COUNTY AT 405 PM WEATHER RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 7 MILES NORTHEAST OF LAWRENCEVILLE ALONG INTERSTATE 85. THE SEVERE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PZEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

A SLOW MOVING FRONT ACROSS TENNESSEE WILL CONTINUE DRIFTING SOUTH INTO EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON. A VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL ALLOW THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IN THE AFTERNOON HEAT. THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MORE LIKELY OVER NORTH GRORGIA BUT SOME OF THE STORMS COULD DEVELOP OR MOVE INTO CENTRAL GEORGIA AS FAR SOUTH AS A LINE EXTENDING FROM HAMILTON TO PERRY TO SOPERTON.
