FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

AT 1040 PM MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO FALL ACROSS
NORTH GEORGIA. HEAVY RAINS WERE SPREADING FARTHER SOUTH WITH TIME.
REPORTS FROM CHEROKEE COUNTY INDICATE SOME VEHICLES HAVE
BEEN SWEPT OFF ROADS BY FLOODWATERS. NUMEROUS ROADS IN
CARROLL COUNTY WERE ALSO UNDER WATER.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLOOD SITUATION. STAY OFF SECONDARY ROADS
UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY.
 
IF YOU LIVE IN A LOW FLOODPRONE AREA...OR NEAR A CREEK OR
STREAM...WATCH WATER LEVELS CAREFULLY AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND ON A MOMENT'S NOTICE.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
