NORTH GEORGIA THIS EVENING. RAINFALL TOTALS OF 3 INCHES
OF MORE HAD BEEN RECORDED THROUGH 7 PM.
 
WATER IS FLOWING ONTO SOME ROADS AND THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS
OF ROADS BEING CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER. A FEW ROADS HAVE
BEEN WASHED OUT.
 
MUDSLIDES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN AT LEAST ONE AREA OF FANNIN
COUNTY.
 
CONDITIONS WILL ONLY WORSEN THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS.
THIS IS BECOMING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR
MOTORISTS. AVOID TRAVEL ON SECONDARY ROADS IN THE WARNED
COUNTIES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY.
 
PEOPLE LIVING IN LOW OR FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD BE PREPARED
TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. KEEP AN EYE ON WATER LEVELS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
