THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  330 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...MEDINA COUNTY
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS EXTENDING THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
MEDINA COUNTY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES HAVE FALLEN
OVER NORTHERN MEDINA COUNTY IN THE LAST 3 HOURS. LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND
LOW LYING AREAS ARE LIKELY FLOODED.
 
THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP IN MEXICO AND MOVE NORTHEASTWARD OVER
MEDINA COUNTY.  ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL PROLONG THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT FOR
MEDINA COUNTY THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
