000 TTAA00 KSAT 012325 FFWSAT TXC287-020230- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 622 PM CDT SAT JUN 1 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...LEE COUNTY AT 617 PM CDT STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAD BEEN SITTING OVER NORTHEAST LEE COUNTY FOR THE PAST 2 HOURS AND RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE 3 TO 4 INCHES HAVE FALLEN OVER EAST YEGUA CREEK NORTHEAST OF LEXINGTON. LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND LOW LYING AREAS WILL FLOOD. THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AREA WERE MOVING VERY LITTLE AND ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE MORE HOURS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
