THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...FRIO COUNTY
 
AT 1250 AM RADAR INDICATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING OVER
MUCH OF FRIO COUNTY. RAINFALL ESTIMATES HAVE TOTALED 3 TO 4 INCHES OVER
THE LAST THREE HOURS. LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND LOW LYING AREAS ARE LIKELY
FLOODED.
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL
HOURS WITH ADDITIONAL RAIN PROLONGING THE FLOODING THREAT THROUGH THE
EARLY MORNING HOURS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE R.OADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
