000 TTAA00 KSAT 280313 RRA FFWSAT TXC053-280615- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 911 PM CST SUN OCT 27 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...BURNET COUNTY AT 910 PM CST...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MOVING INTO SOUTHERN BURNET COUNTY. RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR WITH THESE STORMS. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THE SHERIFFS OFFICE WAS REPORTING HEAVY RAINFALL AND ROAD CLOSURES WILL BEGIN SHORTLY. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
