FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 AM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
 
   ...SOUTHERN AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF SOCORRO COUNTY
      INCLUDING THE TOWN OF SOCORRO.
 
AREAS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE OVER THE EASTERN AND
SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF SOCORRO COUNTY.  LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS
INDICATED CONDITIONS IN AND NEAR THE TOWN OF SOCORRO ARE
DETERIORATING AS WELL.  THE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WAS MOVING TO THE NORTH AT 10 TO 15 MPH.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A 2SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
