AT 615 PM...A BAND OF HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED
GRAHAM TO MINERAL WELLS TO MERIDIAN TO GATESVILLE TO KILLEEN. MOVEMENT
WAS NORTH NORTHWEST AT 25 MPH.
 
THESE STORMS ARE PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR...AND
RAINFALL TOTALS FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES IS LIKELY BY 9 AM IN THE WARNED
COUNTIES.  THIS IS A SERIOUS FLOODING SITUATION AND PERSONS SHOULD STAY
OFF WATER COVERED ROADS...ESPECIALLY AFTER SUNSET WHEN IT WILL BE
ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT TO JUDGE WATER DEPTH.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY T$O CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
