000 TTAA00 KSAT 300358 SVRSAT TXC171-265-300700- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 1053 PM CDT MON MAY 29 1995 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...GILLESPIE COUNTY...KERR COUNTY AT 1055 PM CDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN NEW BRAUNFELS...TEXAS SHOWED AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS...SOME SEVERE WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN...FROM WEST OF HUNT IN KERR COUNTY TO WEST OF FREDRICKSBURG IN GILLESPIE COUNTY...AND ALSO OVER THE EASTERN PART OF GILLESPIE COUNTY. ALTHOUGH THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EASTWARD AT AROUND 20 MPH...THEY ALSO CONTINUED TO DEVELOP OVER KERR AND GILLESPIE COUNTIES. HEAVY RAINS FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CAUSE FLOODING AT LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND OVER LOW LYING AREAS FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS. IN ADDITION...STRONG WINDS AND POSSIBLY DAMAGING HAIL MAY RESULT FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH. THESE WINDS BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES... SOMETIMES BUILDINGS. VERY LARGE HAIL CAN INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT OUTSIDE. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE POSSIBILITY OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN OCCURH WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS... LOW AREAS...AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
