THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  330 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...SOUTHERN WEBB COUNTY
 
AT 1229 AM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS CROSSING THE RIO GRANDE RIVER
AT LAREDO WITH RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES OF RAIN PER HOUR.
50 MPH WIND ESTIMATES FROM DOPPLER RADAR WILL REACH THE CITY OF LAREDO
BY 1245 AM.  LARGE HAIL IS ALSO POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.
 
MOVEMENT OF THIS STORM WAS EAST AT 10 MPH.
 
 
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH.  THESE WINDS
BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES...
SOMETIMES BUILDINGS.  VERY LARGE HAIL CAN INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT
OUTSI^DE.
 
THIS IS A SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM AND IT MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF
