FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 PM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH TEXAS
 
   ...BANDERA COUNTY...BEXAR COUNTY...KENDALL COUNTY...KERR COUNTY
   ...MEDINA COUNTY
 
MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN INTO THE MID MORNING HAVE ADDED TO
THE GENERAL 3 TO 5 INCH RAIN TOTALS EARLIER THIS MORNING TO CONTINUE
FLASH FLOODING IN THE FIVE COUNTIES. ALL SOILS ARE COMPLETELY
SATURATED AND EVEN LIGHT RAIN AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN SUFFICIENT TO CONTINUE
FLASH FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AS WELL AS LOW-LYING AND
POORLY-DRAINED AREAS.
 
IN ADDITION TO THE FLASH FLOODING ALONG LOW AREAS...RIVERS AND CREEKS
ACROSS THE FIVE COUNTIES ARE ALSO FLOODING.  THE FRIO RIVER IS
FLOODING AT GARNER PARK...AND THE MEDINA RIVER IS FLOODING AT BANDERA.
THE GUADALUPE RIVER IS FLOODING NEAR COMFORT...AND COMBINED WITH
VERDE...TURTLE AND CYPRESS CREEKS IN EASTERN KERR COUNTY...FLOODING IS
TAKING PLACE FROM BELOW KERRVILLE ALONG THE GUADALUPE TO BELOW
COMFORT.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT IS
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS AND OTHER
PEOPLE IN RECREATION AREAS ALONG CREEKS...STREAM...AND RIVERS IN
THE WARNING AREA SHOULD MOVE TO HIGH GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
