THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE SOUTHEAST PART OF KANSAS
      SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA

AT 730 PM CDT...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN WICHITA
CONTINUED TO SHOW A NEARLY STATIONARY SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ALONG
THE KANSAS-OKLAHOMA BORDER OF SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY.

THIS STORM HAD BEEN PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINS AND WILL LIKELY
CAUSE RAPID RISED ON STREAMS AND IN LOW LYING AREAS.

 RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINS IN THE WARNING AREA WILL LIKELY FLOOD
STREAMS AND LOW LYING AREAS. BE CAREFUL DRIVING AND DON/T TRY TO
CROSS WATER RUSHING OVER ROADS.

 FLASH FLOODING WILL LIKELY RESULT FROM THE HEAVY RAIN THAT HAS
FALLEN OVER THE WARNING AREA. STAY AWAY FROM AREAS SUSCEPTIBLE
TO FLOODING LIKE SMALL STREAMS...LOW LYING AREAS AND UNDERPASSES.

 KEEP IN MIND THAT A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE
 PART OF SOUTHERN KANSAS UNTIL 11 PM THIS MONDAY EVENING.

TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 231 IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL
AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS UNTIL 1100 PM TONIGHT.

AT 530PM WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING JUST SOUTH
OF THE KANSAS BORDER IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AND WERE 25 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF ARKANSAS CITY TO JUST SOUTHEAST OF COFFEYVILLE.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING NORTHEAST INTO EXTREME SOUTHERN
KANSAS BY 545PM.
