SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  615 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN NORTHEAST OHIO

IN NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA

THE SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOOD WARNING FOR LAWRENCE AND MERCER
COUNTIES HAS BEEN EXTENDED.
 
FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED IN EASTERN MAHONING COUNTY.
 
AT 305 AM EDT WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE
WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE... WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND EXTREME EASTERN
OHIO.  THIS AREA IS MOVING NORTH AND WILL DROP MORE RAIN ON ALREADY
SATURATED GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.

HEAVY RAINS WERE FALLING OVER AREAS OF NORTHEAST OHIO THIS EVENING.

AT 940 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH
LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN OVER COLUMBIANA AND MAHONING COUNTIES FROM
YOUNGSTOWN TO EAST LIVERPOOL. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH AT
30 MPH.

MANY STREAMS AND CREEKS IN NORTHEAST OHIO WERE RUNNING AT NEAR
BANKFULL AND FLOODING COULD RESULT IF THE HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES.
