000 TTAA00 KRST 272259 SVRRST MNC109-045-272315- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ROCHESTER MN 526 PM CDT SUN JUL 27 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 615 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...EASTERN OLMSTED AND FILLMORE THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE CITIES OF PRESTON EYOTA AND SPRING VALLEY. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCES STRONG DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE HAIL ..VERY HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. REMEMBER THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NOW ADVANCE WARNING SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT. AT 512 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS FROM EASTERN OLMSTED COUNTY TO NORTHEAST MOWER COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA MOVING EAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH. AT 440 PM CDT..THESE INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN TWO SEPERATE LINES..EACH..ABOUT 25 MILES WIDE. ONE LINE EXTENDED FROM MENOMONEE SOUTHEAST THROUGH ELLSWORTH WISONSIN TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER JUST NORTH OF..RED WING MINNESOTA. THE OTHER LINE STRECHED FROM JUST NORTH OF WABASHA SOUTHEAST TO JUST NOARTH OF ROCHESTER NEAR DODGE CENTER. OTHER SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE DETECTED BETWEEN ROCHESTER AND AUSTIN DOWN INTO NORTH CENTRAL IOWA. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. CARLYON
