- Extreme Cold and Winter Weather in West Virginia, February 18 to 20, 2015In less than a week, a second arctic front swept through West Virginia during the early afternoon hours of the 18th. Snow showers formed ahead of the front.

- Winter Weather in West Virginia, December 13, 2014Low clouds and patchy freezing drizzle combined with temperatures around 30 degrees to cause slippery roads during this Saturday morning. Several minor vehicular accidents were reported in the Kanawha Valley. One accident lead to an indirect death in Putnam County.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, March 8, 2018An upper level disturbance kicked off a round of snow squalls during the afternoon of the 8th. In general, these were quick moving squalls that produced brief visibility less than one mile and a quick coating of snow.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, March 3, 2016A strong clipper cold front brought widespread snow showers to portions of southeast West Virginia. Snowfall amounts across the Greenbrier county ranged from 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts. Snow and ice covered roadway surfaces, causing them to become very slick.
- High Wind and Winter Weather in West Virginia, December 23 to 24, 2022A low pressure system rapidly intensified December 22nd to December 23rd as the center of the low moved from the Midwest across the Great Lakes. A flash freeze, strong wind gusts, and dangerously cold temperatures were recorded across the region.

- Winter Weather in West Virginia, January 8, 2016After a clear night, clouds increased during the predawn hours and light rain developed during the early morning. Pockets of freezing rain occurred at the onset, mainly in sheltered valleys. Several accidents occurred during the morning.
- Heavy Snow and Strong Wind in West Virginia, December 4 to 5, 2024During the late evening hours of December 4th, a cold front progressed through the Ohio Valley and promoted strong to gusty winds in its wake. The front arrived into West Virginia around midnight and swept through the state during the early morning on the 5th.

Temperatures aloft quickly rose above freezing, but surface temperatures lagged some as precipitation moved in. This created a period of freezing rain during the morning.
- Ice Storm and Winter Weather in West Virginia, October 29 to 30, 2002Up to 2 inches of rain fell across the area on the 29th and 30th. At elevations above 2500 feet, temperatures were below 32 degrees during this period of time. This caused the rain to freeze on impact on trees, power lines, roads, and bridges.

- Winter Weather in West Virginia, January 2 to 3, 2014A low pressure system tracked east, across Kentucky into southern West Virginia during the daylight hours on the 2nd. A mixture of light rain and snow fell during the day.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, March 3, 2016An enhanced west to east band of wet snow developed across eastern Kentucky into southern West Virginia on the 3rd, ahead of a weak low pressure system. Temperatures were in the low and mid 30s in the valleys to the upper 20s across high terrain.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, December 12, 2017On Monday, December 11th, 2017 mild conditions allowed for temperatures to reach the upper 40s in Bluefield, WV. The mild conditions, mid 30s to lower 40s, continued into the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 12th, 2017.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, December 7, 2011Rain fell from the 6th into the morning of the 7th. After 1 to 2 inches of rain, the precipitation changed to wet snow during the early afternoon hours of the 7th across the mountainous counties. A 2 to 5 inch snow accumulation was common in about 6 hours.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in West Virginia, March 5 to 6, 2013In response to a strong mid level circulation, a low pressure strengthened as it moved up the Ohio River Valley during the daylight hours on the 5th. It spread some light rain into southern West Virginia.
- Winter Weather and Strong Wind in West Virginia, December 23 to 24, 2022A strong cold front brought showers to the area just after midnight on December 23rd. Precipitation began as rain, but as colder temperatures infiltrated the area, a changeover to snow took place.
- Flash Flood and Winter Storm in West Virginia, March 21 to 22, 2001A Nor'easter moved from the North Carolina Coast to New England from the 20th to the 22nd. As it passed by the Mid Atlantic region, it dropped heavy precipitation between midnight and mid afternoon on the 21st.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in West Virginia, January 1 to 3, 2012An arctic cold front swept through on New Years Day, bringing much colder air into the state. Southwest or west winds gusted into the 35 to 45 mph range during the afternoon. A few exposed locations had stronger gusts.
- Winter Weather in West Virginia, December 15, 2022The combination of sleet and freezing rain resulted in slick road surfaces on Interstate-64 near the border with Virginia, the White Sulphur Springs, WV area. A west bound minivan collided with a WVDOH work truck between mile markers 180 and 181.
