The deadliest
- Marine Thunderstorm Winds in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, March 6, 2004Strong thunderstorm winds were responsible for capsizing a 36-ft water taxi near Fort McHenry. The 41 kt gust was reported at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Ft McHenry is 7 miles northeast of Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
- Marine High Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, November 12 to 13, 2009A powerful nor'easter produced storm force wind gusts for around 24 hours across lower Delaware Bay, coastal Delaware and most of coastal New Jersey from the morning of the 12th into the early evening of the 13th. Peak wind gusts were around 52 knots (60 mph).
- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, November 27, 2015A strong southeasterly swell along the Atlantic ocean waters off the New Jersey coast produced hazardous seas in the waters off the Monmouth County coast and into Manasquan Inlet during the afternoon of the 27th.

Locally gusty winds...up to 30 mph...briefly occurred along the leading edge of the area of rain over the waters near Schoodic Point.
- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, November 19, 2016A potent cold front passed through. A strong wind shift behind the front along with gusty winds led to a couple fatalities along with an injury.
- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, April 15, 2018A boat capsized resulting in two fatalities on the 15th around noon. Gradient winds were estimated to be around 20 knots.
- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, January 18, 2025An approaching low pressure system on January 18th tightened the pressure gradient over the Gulf of Maine. This caused near gale force winds over the Gulf of Maine, with seas building to near 8 feet.
- Marine Thunderstorm Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, September 18, 2004Heavy rain bands with embedded thunderstorms over Eastern Long Island Sound produced wind gusts up to 43 knots. This resulted in a 31 foot boat capsizing near Niantic Bay. Two men were thrown into the water. One of them was killed. The boat sustanied significant structual damage.
- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, July 4, 2007A 32-year-old woman drowned in Barnegat Bay after a boat she was riding in capsized at about 820 p.m. EDT. Winds were estimated to be gusting at 30 to 35 mph from the south at the time the boat capsized. The capsizing was made easier by two waves which struck the boat.

- Marine Strong Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, August 26, 2008Gusty northwest winds, of up to 20 knots behind a departing cold front, caused a catamaran to capsize in Western Long Island Sound, near Westport. A 3 year old occupant of the boat drowned in the accident.
- Marine High Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, May 12, 2008A low pressure system, which was tracking eastward, was centered over the Illinois/Indiana border during the early morning hours of May 11th. A secondary low pressure system began to develop over eastern North Carolina during the late afternoon on the 11th.
- Marine Thunderstorm Winds in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, June 29 to 30, 2012A well-organized cluster of thunderstorms with a history of producing widespread damaging winds advanced into a hot, unstable airmass over the Mid Atlantic.
- Marine Thunderstorm Winds in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, August 15, 2016A southwest flow caused hot and humid conditions over the area. A pressure trough triggered showers and thunderstorms, and some produced gusty winds due to the unstable atmosphere.

- Marine High Wind in North Atlantic Coastal Waters, September 1, 2006A very tight pressure gradient developed Friday afternoon in response to the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto moving through the Mid Atlantic. Wind gusts around 50 knots occurred on the Lower Tidal Potomac and Middle Chesapeake Bay.

Warm and humid air at the surface interacted with cooler air aloft to produce scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours.
