- Flooding and Coastal Flood in Maine, April 16 to 25, 2007An area of low pressure over the southeastern United States on the morning of Sunday, April 15th, rapidly intensified as it slowly moved north to near New York City by the morning of Monday, April 16th.
- Flash Flood and Flooding in Maine, December 23 to 24, 2022Beginning on December 22nd a powerful storm was developing over the Ohio River Valley. On December 23rd the center of the storm was deepening rapidly (974mb) as it lifted through the eastern Great Lakes.
- Flash Flooding and Coastal Flood in Maine, January 13, 2024The second severe storm in a week’s time struck the northern New England coastline during the middle of January.
- Flash Flooding and Winter Storm in Maine, January 9 to 10, 2024A powerful storm tracked northeast through the Mid Mississippi River Valley on the 9th, rapidly deepening as it approached the southern Great Lakes.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, March 2 to 5, 2018Low pressure developed off the New Jersey coast (981mb), on March 2nd before rapidly intensifying well offshore on March 3rd (974mb), producing hurricane force wind gusts in the Gulf of Maine.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, January 4, 2018Low pressure developed off the Florida coast on the 3rd of January before moving north on the 4th. The intense low (956 mb) passed southeast of Nantucket Island during a period of very high astronomical tides.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Maine, October 10 to 11, 1998A moist southeast flow from the Atlantic developed ahead of an intensifying low pressure center off the mid-Atlantic coast on Friday, October 9 and caused heavy rain to spread over southern Maine during the day.
- Flash Flooding and Winter Storm in Maine, March 10, 2024A multifaceted storm brought strong winds and heavy rain to the coast, and heavy snow to the mountains on March 10th.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, January 17, 2022Low pressure rapidly intensified into a strong storm (980 mb) and tracked over western New England on the morning of January 17th. This allowed for a strong easterly flow to develop as the system passed to our west.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, May 13 to 16, 2006Bands of rain rotated around the periphery of a slow moving, but vigorous, low pressure system from the 12th through the 15th.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, January 16, 2021An area of low pressure intensified as it entered interior New England on January sixteenth with a 991mb surface low being observed. This produced storm force easterly wind gusts over the outer waters of the Gulf of Maine and 16 foot nearshore waves with a period of 8 seconds.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, April 20 to 21, 2015Low pressure rapidly intensified on the 20th of April over the Great Lakes as a secondary area of low pressure developed along the New England coastline. Gale force easterly winds over the coastal waters allowed for nearshore waves to build to nearly 15 feet.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, April 7, 2016Low pressure intensified as it moved rapidly through eastern New York State during the evening of April 7th. This allowed a strong southerly gale to develop over the coastal waters throughout the day and during high tide.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, February 9, 2016Flooding occurred along the coast of Maine on February 9th as an intense storm passed east of the Canadian Maritimes during a period of high astronomical tides.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, December 14, 2019A coastal low pressure system (999 mb) crossed through western New England during a period of high astronomical tides on December 14th.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, September 18, 1996A coastal low pressure system that developed along the northeast U.S. coast from the remnants of Pacific Hurricane Fausto brought high winds and heavy rain to coastal Maine.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, January 27, 2015Low pressure moved to the Mid Atlantic coastline during the early morning hours of January 27th and rapidly intensified into an intense storm as it moved northeast off the New England coast.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, September 30, 2015Low pressure tracked northeast along a stalled frontal boundary along the coast. Gale force southeasterly winds combined with the highest astronomical tides of the month to produce coastal flooding across the southwest coast of Maine.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, May 25 to 26, 2017A weak area of low pressure slowly intensified as it moved toward Nantucket Island on the evening of May 25th. Ahead of the system, an east-northeasterly wind of 30 to 35 knots developed over the coastal waters, before diminishing near the time of high tide.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, November 27, 2018Low pressure intensified as it moved up the east coast to near Cape Cod, Massachusetts on November 27th. This allowed for gale force northeasterly winds to generate nearshore waves of 10 to 15 feet and increased storm surge values.
- Coastal Flood and Astronomical Low Tide in Maine, September 22, 2020Hurricane Teddy underwent extra-tropical transition to a strong 951 mb storm well off shore in the Gulf of Maine before moving north north towards Halifax, Nova Scotia. This powerful cyclone coincided with astronomically high tides.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, March 8, 2018Low pressure intensified off the mid Atlantic coast (993 mb) on March 7th and moved to just off the northern New England coast by March 8th (989 mb). The low produced storm-force wind gusts over the outer waters.
- Coastal Flood in Maine, December 27, 2012Low pressure intensified as it slowly moved up the east coast on the 26th of December and into the Gulf of Maine on the 27th. The slow movement allowed for a two to three foot storm surge on top of the normal astronomical tides.
