- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Georgia, January 9 to 14, 2011One of the most significant winter storms to affect north and central Georgia in years, but especially north Georgia, began the evening of January 9th and continued throughout much of the following work week.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in Georgia, February 12 to 13, 2010A full latitude trough was moving through the eastern United States. An associated area of surface low pressure was moving from the central into the eastern Gulf of Mexico. An Arctic air mass lingered across the eastern U.S.
- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Georgia, February 11 to 13, 2014The second major winter storm in as many weeks hit north and central Georgia on February 12th. An area of extremely strong cold air damming moved down the Eastern Seaboard and into north Georgia on the 12th.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in Georgia, March 1 to 2, 2009A vigorous closed upper-level low, with very cold temperatures aloft, continued to intensify as it moved rapidly southeast from the Midwest into the southeast U.S. from the evening of February 28th into the afternoon of March 1st.
- Heavy Snow in Georgia, January 2 to 3, 2002One of the biggest snow storms to affect north and central Georgia since March 1993 began early on the 2nd and continued through mid-day on the 3rd.

Arctic air remained firmly entrenched across much of the central and eastern U.S., but was marginal across the southeast U.S.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in Georgia, December 25 to 26, 2010A deep closed upper low was rotating through the eastern and southeastern U.S. from the 25th through the 26th. Ample Gulf moisture was present across the region in advance of the upper trough to support widespread light to moderate rain.
- Extreme Cold and Heavy Snow in Georgia, January 21 to 22, 2025A historic winter storm affected the tri-state area during mid January. A shortwave embedded within a larger 500mb trough dove south over Utah before sharpening and moving over the Four Corners region on the 20th.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Georgia, January 16 to 17, 2022A powerful storm system brought wintry precipitation along with strong winds > 40 MPH across much of north Georgia late on the 15th and through the 16th of January.
- Heavy Snow in Georgia, February 12 to 13, 2010A strong storm system tracked across northern Florida and then northeastward off the Georgia and South Carolina coast.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in Georgia, March 2, 2010A deep upper trough was moving from the mid-south into the southeast U.S. An accompanying strong low pressure system was tracking eastward through the eastern Gulf of Mexico toward Florida. Moderately cold air covered the eastern U.S., but the air mass was not of Arctic origin.

- Heavy Snow in Georgia, December 18, 1996Snow amounts ranging from 1 to 3 inches fell across portions of north Georgia. No major travel problems were encountered because road temperatures were still warm enough to melt most of the snow as it made contact.

- Heavy Snow in Georgia, January 16 to 17, 2003Light snow, mixed with some light pockets of sleet, fell across north central and northeast Georgia. The snow was the result of a strong arctic cold front moving through the region as a weak upper-level disturbance moved over the area.

An area of low pressure shifted off the Southeast coast while deepening, ushering in a very cold air mass across the region.
- Heavy Snow in Georgia, January 11 to 12, 1996A mixture of snow and sleet caused numerous traffic accidents and closed some roads in north Georgia. Amounts were generally around 2 inches, but 6 inches were reported in Clayton in Rabun County.

- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in Georgia, December 12 to 13, 2010A very deep eastern U.S. trough penetrating well south, even toward Cuba, allowed a bitter cold Arctic air mass to surge into the southeast U.S. This brought some of the coldest weather to north and central Georgia that had been observed in years.
