- Flash Flood and Flood in Georgia, July 9, 2005The Union Recorder of Milledgeville reported that torrential rainfall, associated with the outer spiral feeder bands of Dennis resulted in the collapse of the Fitness Plus Center. The force of the collapse also blew out the front windows of the building.
- Flash Flood in Montana, July 9, 2005A thunderstorm produced very heavy rainfall over an area just north of Dillon. The heavy rain caused flooding in a subdivision which threatened a number of homes. Basement flooding was reported as well as culverts being overwhelmed. Damage was minimal.
- Hurricane in Florida, July 9 to 11, 2005Dennis, a Category 3 hurricane, moved inland just east of Gulf Breeze, FL, early Sunday afternoon, July 10. The peak wind gust and lowest sea-level pressure recorded were 67 knots and 979 mb, respectively, at Buoy 42039 located 80 miles south of Panama City, FL.

The lowest sea-level pressure and peak wind gust recorded were 1007.5 mb and 42 mph, respectively, at Albany, GA. Heavy rainfall commenced July 10, and persisted into the early morning hours of July 11.

Rainfall amounts ranged from two to four inches across extreme southeast Alabama. Most of the damage was a result of strong winds associated with Dennis' passing rain bands.

- Heavy Rain in Hawaii, July 9, 2005Heavy showers on the lee side of the Big Island of Hawaii, in the South Kona District, caused small stream and drainage ditch flooding, and ponding of roadways. There were no reports of serious property damage or injuries.
- Tropical Storm in Mississippi, July 10, 2005Hurricane Dennis emerged into the southeast Gulf of Mexico on July 9th after forming in the Caribbean Sea and moving across Cuba.
- Storm Surge in Florida, July 10, 2005A bubble of storm surge from Hurricane Dennis moved north along the west Florida Gulf Coast during the day. The surge peaked at Fort Myers around 3:30 AM EDT, in Pinellas County between 8-9 AM EDT, and at Cedar Key just before noon.

- Flash Flood in Georgia, July 12, 2005The Cherokee County Emergency Management Director reported that heavy rain caused flash flooding on Sope and Shoal Creeks, which washed out a couple of county roads. One vehicle was washed away into Shoal Creek. The occupant had to be rescued, but no injuries were reported.
