Fueled by the heating of the day, scattered thunderstorms developed across primarily central and east-central Wisconsin during the late morning and afternoon hours on June 16, 2026. Cold temperatures aloft resulted in low freezing levels and efficient hail production in storms. Most hail was just below severe criteria, though a storm over Fond du Lac and Sheboygan County grew strong enough to produce localized severe hail.
