- Unseasonably warm temperatures expected into next week.

- Next chance for rain Monday-Tuesday.

.NEAR TERM...
(Rest of today and tonight)
Issued at 1229 PM CST Fri Feb 6 2026

A reinforcing frontal boundary will usher in drier air, with
temperatures this afternoon remaining well-above average. Generally,
locations to the north will get up into the 60s, and locations to
the south will be in the 70s. Northerly winds will eventually weaken
shortly before sunset. Should be a beautiful day to spend outdoors!

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(Saturday through Sunday night)
Issued at 1229 PM CST Fri Feb 6 2026

Overnight lows Friday into Saturday morning will be near freezing
for most of us. The shallow cold air mass in the wake of the
aforementioned frontal boundary will stick around at least through
Saturday. Afternoon temperatures will reflect this by not getting
much above the low 60s.

A warming trend will begin Sunday across the area, with highs in the
low to mid 70s. Overnight lows Sunday morning will be much warmer
than previous mornings, with temperatures ranging from the mid
40s to low 50s.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Monday through Thursday)
Issued at 1228 AM CST Fri Feb 6 2026

Models show the upper low eventually opening up and moving across
the southern Plains as a wave Tuesday. Meanwhile, sfc moisture will
be on the increase early next week with a sfc low and cold front
expected to move across the area Tuesday. All this will bring a
chance for rain starting in SW portions of the fa Monday afternoon
with chances spreading north and east Monday night. The rain chances
will continue into Tuesday and are expected to end as the upper wave
moves out of the area.

The warmer temperatures will continue Monday with highs once again
in the 70s. These temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees above normal
for this time of year. The front moving across the area Tuesday will
lead to "cooler" (highs in the mid/upper 60s) temperatures in
northern OK with highs in the 70s expected across the rest of the
fa. The airmass behind the front isn't particularly cold but will
lead to highs more in the upper 50s and 60s (10 to 15 degrees
cooler than Monday) for the middle of next week.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1105 AM CST Fri Feb 6 2026

While VFR conditions will continue during the initial hours of
the upcoming period, there is increasing probability of reduced
category (due to low clouds/stratus) after 06-08 UTC on Saturday
morning. As of this update, this is most probable at KWWR and
KCSM, where TEMPO mention of MVFR/near-IFR conditions have been
added. A more expansive profile of reduced category is possible
across northern and central Oklahoma on Saturday morning, and
those with planned operations should check back at forthcoming
updates.

Otherwise, northerly surface winds will remain rather gusty
through sunset this evening.
