Southerly flow on the backside of high pressure warmed the Delta region and portions of eastern Arkansas. Moisture pulling from our north also resulted in increased dewpoints in these areas.

Southerly flow on the backside of high pressure warmed the Delta region and portions of eastern Arkansas. Moisture pulling from our north also resulted in increased dewpoints in these areas. Temperatures in the 90s and dewpoints in the 70s resulted in dangerous heat with heat indices in excess of 105F in the aforementioned areas. Luckily, a cold front translated across the Mid-South the next day, providing some relief from the heat.
