Highs so far this afternoon are in the 50s and 60s. Northeast winds have begun to come down from earlier today and will continue to decrease this evening and overnight. Expect a chilly night, with most locations falling below freezing. A few spots could fall into the 20s especially the river valleys and sheltered low lying areas. The exception will be Friday when a fast moving shortwave moving through the central plains will send a cold front into Texas. Highs on Thursday in the mid/upper 60s will drop into the mid 50s/lower 60s on Friday, and then bounce back up into the mid 60s to around 70 for Saturday and Sunday. Sunday into Monday, much colder air will move into the area as a more potent low moves through the southern plains, sending another cold front into Texas. Highs Monday will drop 15 to 20 degrees on average across the area, dropping into the mid 40s to mid 50s. Widespread freezing temperatures are expected Monday night, with highs mainly in the 40s on Tuesday, although it's possible that temperatures could be even colder. Beyond the seven day forecast, models continue to indicate a continuation of this cold air and the potential for precipitation, but there is still a lot of uncertainty with the forecast beyond Tuesday. && .AVIATION...
