KEY MESSAGES: 1) Scattered thunderstorms are possible mainly late tonight. 2) Periodic shower and thunderstorm chances will continue into early next week. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A weak upper ridge with a relaxed jet stream will keep any thunderstorms from being severe through tomorrow. However, a strong one or two cannot be rulled out, bringing small hail and/or a strong wind gust. An upper low or disturbance this afternoon will help to generate scattered thunderstorms tonight across the CWA. Scattered thunderstorm chances will continue into mid-week next week as the jet stream brings disturbances in from the west as low level moisture remains high from recent rains. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: Generally followed the NBM but models have moderate at best for confidence on placement of showers & thunderstorms. Latest NBM didn't pick up on the thunderstorm near Glendive. TFJ && .AVIATION... Expected Flight Category: Mainly VFR. Discussion: There is moderate to high confidence all TAF sites will experience scattered storms this evening into the overnight.
