This resulted in light winds and excellent radiational cooling conditions allowing overnight lows to plummet. Apparent temperature values in the -20 to -40F range were common across northeastern Minnesota with some areas seeing apparent temperatures as low as -48F during the early morning hours of the 12th when light winds occurred.
