It was the first snow of the year and fell on a Monday morning after a holiday weekend so travel impacts were greater than perhaps would have been expected. Most areas received 1-4 inches however a band of 4-5 inch amounts did occur around the Topeka to Lawrence corridor into Jefferson County. Winds however were light under 10 mph so this could have been worse.

Four and seven tenths inches (4.7) of snow was measured at NWS Topeka. Other measurements around the city of Topeka included 5 to 5.5 inches.
