A storm system tracking along the Gulf Coast spread light snow across much of central Illinois on January 10th. Most locations along and south of a Macomb to Watseka line picked up 2 to 3 inches of snow, with isolated spots approaching 4 inches. Despite the light nature of the snowfall, roadways become slick and hazardous and a few traffic accidents were reported. One of the more serious incidents happened along I-74 between Ogden and St. Joseph in Champaign County where two injuries occurred and the interstate was closed for a time.

Snow-covered roads led to a pair of accidents along I-74 in eastern Champaign County around midday on January 10th. Two people were injured and the interstate was closed for approximately 1 1/2 hours between Ogden and St. Joseph.
