A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms developed as a weak front crossed the eastern half of the Buffalo forecast area. Instability values of around 1,000 J/kg of CAPE and favorable shear were in place to help develop the storms. Forcing from the front wasn't very strong, so severe thunderstorm coverage was minimal.
